Ok so I know with the adapter I can run an Ethernet to my PC but is there a way to just go from the USB C port to a USB on my PC?

So one can not use it as a usb source of internet? I have a desktop with no wifi and the Ethernet port is used for a local network. So I normally teather with a phone for it via usb port. I expected to be able to do the same with this as well just wanted to confirm.
