GL.iNet AXT 1800 to be used as Wireguard client

Because fritzbox can't be Wireguard VPN Server and Client at the same time, I connected a GL.iNet AXT 1800 to fritzbox network (192.168.2.xxx). AXT 1800 gets IP via DHCP.
For WG client on AXT 1800 I used connection to surfshark.
If I connect a device via lan or wifi generally it works fine. if I try to get a link to http://xxxxxxxxxx.com:8080 (which is set in an application) it's not connecting. If have no clue how to set up port forearding or other things that it works.....

Is this URL a public Internet service or a self-built service on Fritzbox or AXT1800 LAN?

How about the result ping xxxx.com?

If disable the WG VPN client on AXT1800, is this URL available to access on the client?

Like test by ping xxx.com

Dear Bruce, yes, without VPN it opens. I tried to collect further Informationā€¦.. could be DNS. Will try the google one. I will also try other Country-Server or try with OpenVPNā€¦.. do you have better ideas?

  1. Maybe there is something issue with VPN server DNS.

  2. Is the ADG enabled?

  3. If ADG is not enabled, please try to modify the router DNS to Google or Cloudflare in GL GUI > Network > DNS. At the same time, please enable the option "Allow Custom DNS to Override VPN DNS".

Tried it out, but no success. Used a different VPN provider, also no chanceā€¦..
