Gl.inet firmware vs openwrt

Hi,

I guess this subject has been discussed but between the last firmware 4.7 based on 24.10 release, is it still worth it to use open wrt firmware?

thanks

this is hard to awnser

Do you want better support towards the luci counter part especially the wifi side?, yes op24.

Do you look into stability?: hmm, that is a hard one also because sometimes things happen on the gl sdk and other times op24 is better and in other situations mtk sdk this is very specific to someones use case and setup.

I know from using plain openwrt it works fine :+1: and it fixes a few issues i had with crashing on certain packet lengths though that had been fixed in the calibration data so both firmware profit, to discuss mtk sdk with main openwrt, then obviously the mtk sdk would win because it has propetairy hacks and boosts and all the bells.

So in my opinion its not fair to compare them, i would say op24 is more than stable to me, but opinions might differ per user.

For me it is important to access the full openwrt feature set like multi psk and such, that would not be possible with mtk sdk.
