GL.iNet GL-MT6000(Flint 2) - EE TV Help

Hi Everyone, I am a new user to the forums and my first time buying a GL iNet Router. Basically I am in the UK and have the EE TV Box with EE Hub. I purchased the Flint 2 as the WIFI range and quality from the EE HUB is actually terrible.

When I connect the Flint 2 and configure internet and WIFI the speeds I get are 2.5x minimum quicker than the EE Hub + 1 Extender I was supplied.

It all works brilliantly except I can no longer get TV channels through the EE TV box.

I am not a network specialist, I know my way around but I cannot find any where I can setup IPTV settings on this box. I have found a couple of posts which mention using scripts to run to enable the correct settings but I can't seem to get it to work probably because I dont have the necessary brainpower to understand what I need to do! I have thought about buying a different router which has IPTV section in the UI but really wanted to get this all working on the Flint 2 after seeing the improvement to the WIFI it brings.

Any help appreciated, sorry for the long post.

Can you enable IGMP snooping and see if that helps. It can be found under "Network" on the glinet gui.

After doing so then reboot the flint and TV box, repeat for the V2, v1 protocols on the IGMP if there's no joy on either version.

Theres also a similar thread here that could help

Hi, thanks for the reply. I will check out those links much apreciated.

I did enable IGMP Snooping and tried all 3 versions but it didn't help unfortunatley. Will take a look at the other links, thanks again!

Hi djayyy, sorry to bother you but just picked up the Flint 2 to replace my EE Hub, but i have no idea how to set it up. I have no experience setting up routers, so far just used the one provided by ISPs, but this EE Hub, as you've said is awful

Would you be able to help me do so.

Thanks,

Fin

Hi Fin,

Unfortunately i had no joy getting the router to work with the EETV Pro box. Whether wired or wireless, I gave up in the end.

If it’s any consolation, I then purchased the ASUS Rt-BE88 and I cannot get that to work either!!!

Really frustrating as you say the EE WiFi is terrible.

I assume you have got it connected to the internet ?
If not and your using FTTP then just use the username : bthomehub@btbroadband.com and the password is : bt

You could get use your flint 2 as an access point and your EE TV should still work as your EE hub will still be the main router

Basically leave the EE hub as the router, disable the WiFi on the EE Hub and then put the flint 2 in access point mode and set the flint 2 SSID name / password exactly as it was on the EE Hub. All of your wireless clients will then connect to the WiFi of the flint 2.

Saves it just being sat in the box and it will also give you the wifi coverage of the flint 2.
