GL-iNet Mango: VPN disconnecting after moving to different home

Hello everyone. This is my first time using this kind of forums. I have an issue that I've not been able to solve, and the only relatively similar one that I could find was left unfinished.

I have a Mango mini smart router (2.4GHz), that I use as a repeater. That device is tethered to a similar one in a different place, which allows for remote work.

It had been working as expected of it for the longest time, but after moving to a different place (within the same area) it has stopped working as it should. VPN connection is unstable, and it keeps dropping. Moved to a different area, the same issue. The local internet itself is working well, that is to say very fast speeds, reliable, fiber optics even. Currently using Wireguard.

For some reason, some locations will work just fine, will others will have the VPN dropping to the point of being unreliable even though they have theoretically a better and faster connection.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

To add:

The speed seems to be become atrocious, at random. The weekends? It works fantastic, speeds are up high.

Come Monday? Suddenly it has issues connecting, speed drops to the lowest, can barely keep connected. Eventually it drops entirely.

Hi,

  1. You can use ping on the client router SSH or a PC to check whether that VPN server network is stable.

  2. If Mango connects to VPN server is stable, there should be no problem with WG VPN tunnel, but the speed drops, may be limited from ISP of server or client? (WG traffic is identified, restricting using WG VPN).
You can try changing to OpenVPN to test.
