GL-iNet750s WAN disconnect every few hours, OFF / ON fixes it temporarily

As per title, my GL-iNet750s displays ‘no WAN cable’. WIFI and the rest work fine. Started doing this after two weeks with no problems (new unit). Firmware updated to latest stable. Tested with another modem, WAN is working fine. Switching the unit OFF for 5 minutes or so makes it work again but then in a few hours the problem happens again.

What should I try? Factory reset? Can I load the configuration afterwards to save me inputting everything? What about scripts such as the ones I put in for Astrorelay and zerotier? are they saved in the config file? (BTW Astrorelay and Zerotier scripts can work together on this unit or can the problem come from there?)

About to return it but if I can fix it, of course that would be easier. Really like this unit - when it is working …

Any ideas, many thanks.

It may not be related but I had a wan disconnection message in the syslog of my MV1000 every night and it reconnected immediately. This was while using 3.105. Now, with 3.201 (beta 6) I haven’t seen this problem yet. You could try this version if it’s available for your model.

Yeah, this one would disconnect after 1-2 days and reconnect after several hours(!).

In fact, I thought the router updated its firmware to latest when I first set it up but that was not the case. I had 3.105 and now updated to 3.201. No more disconnects yet but it takes a few days usually and also, my Astrorelay and Zerotier scripts were wiped out. When I get to the router location and put the ZT one back we shall see if this happens again…

Ok… it seems disconnects are not that frequent anymore and it reconnects immediately, but still happening. It is not a big nuisance but it’s only been a few days since the Firmware update. I wonder if this is from the WAN side of the provider maybe and if there is some setting I might try. The log shows something like this:

So as you can see it all happened within 4 seconds… but why? I assume eth0.2 is the WAN socket? So why does eth0.2 have connectivity loss? Could it be from provider? It is in an apartment block with CGNAT. I fixed the network socket in the wall as it was damaged and used a brand new connector. So I don’t think it is from some electrical contact. Anyway will keep monitoring…the error message when it disconnected for hours at a time was ‘no cable plugged in’.

EDIT: One more thing… I did a search on “udhcpc: received SIGTERM” and it seems people did get it on other modems - WAN socket got disabled and WAN dropped. It was solved with some code (commit). Not sure if it is the same thing

Seems it is related to provider but not sure. Will check the patch you provided.

Sorry for the long post, the device has reconnected by itself and I have pulled the log. Would you be able to look through and see if it seems to be from the provider, or something else? WAN goes down quite a few times. I need some sort of evidence before I complain to apartments administration. Thanks!
