GL-MiFi 4G Smart Router not detecting modem

I recently purchased a new GL-MIFI-061 with a EC25-E 4G EU modem.

Without SIM card inserted, it appears to be fine. Modem is present and there is a message on the control panel showing 3G/4G Modem
‘!’ SIM card not detected.

However the moment I insert a SIM card, the 3G/4G modem is no longer detected. I have tried with a different SIM card but got with the same results.

Is there something wrong with the Modem (hardware issue) or firmware?

According to your description, it is likely that the power supply is insufficient. It is recommended that you use a 5V/2A adapter.
