Yeah. Bummer no doubt. Keep us posted on what support was able to do for you.
Yeah, of course the update can fail, but the UBoot supposed to be a solution for that, like a BIOS in Windows.
Agree with @ollee, after 1 year warranty it’s safer to put the updates on hold, unless the support can offer a solution for cases like that.
I have two GL-MT2500s, but both of them failed to brick in last few weeks
U-boot still works, so I flashed the official firmware again, but nothing changed.
Based on the situation, I suspect that something went wrong with eMMC, but I can’t be sure.
Just do it. If bricked we will give you exchange.
We may not be able to help for products that is 3 or 4 years old but for less than 2 years surely we can help.

Customer service is sending out a replacement! Thanks GL!
I am having the same problem. I have had this GL-MT2500 router for at least 1 year, but after the last firmware update, it always gives problems.
Now, I can only access the uboot at http://192.168.1.1. I have already tried many times to send the firmware, and in the end, it says “Upgrade Complete,” but it’s not rebooting to 192.168.8.1.
I have also tried http://192.168.1.1/gpt.html, and it doesn’t give an error, but the same problem persists after rebooting; I can’t access 192.168.8.1.
Any solution or its dead?
After many years working with routers, it’s my first time that I can’t recover a router.
