GL-MT3000 Access point and VLAN

Hi,

I am looking to have my GL-MT3000 act as a WIFI access point for a VLAN via ethernet (not wifi) that is hosted by my upstream router but I can't seem to get this to work.

I've gone into Luci and tried the following:

  • Added a vlan under devices and interfaces
  • Manually changed the IP address to the desired vlan address
  • Manually changed the br-lan interface to a vlan interface

Details of my configuration as follows:

  • Upstream router address (pfsense): 192.168.1.1
  • Upstream VLAN ID: 20
  • Upstream VLAN ID DHCP Server: 192.168.20.1
  • Desired GL-MT3000 Address: 192.168.20.2

Any ideas? Thanks

First i need a more proper picture

When i read:

I get confused what you mean, you want a wireless access point, do you want the vlan to be sent over wire and then use it as wifi ?, or: do you mean you want to make vlan passthrough the AP via the AP ports via wire to a different device?

Could you make a flowchart to give me a idea what you want?
