GL-MT3000 (Beryl AX) - Bootloop after every Uboot flash. Router is broken?

Hello,

Everything was great until my wifi connections suddenly disappeared.
First I tried resetting with no luck.
After that, I flashed around 10 different stock and openwrt firmwares, including beta via Uboot from here - GL.iNet download center, and here - Testing to determine if you are a bot!
As a result - I have endless bootloop. Nevertheless, I still have access to Uboot.

Can you please advice what can I try to do next? Or the device is completelly “broken”?

Thank you in advance

Hi,

Could you please check and confirm the following:

  1. Are you currently using the original power adapter or another one that meets the 5V/3A specification?
  2. What was the result when flashing the firmware via U-Boot? Did the web page indicate a successful flash?
  3. If the stock firmware was successfully flashed, what is the LED status about 10 minutes after the device boots?
  4. When you mentioned the Wi-Fi connection disappears, do you mean the MT3000 SSID is no longer visible? Does using a wired connection help to access the Admin Panel?

Hi,

  1. I didn’t have the original adapter in the package, so I’m using another one 5v/3a.

  1. Some firmwares where “successfully installed” but never automatically reboot. Uboot just stuck on the Success screen. Some other formwares stuck on upgrading. Nevertheless, both results lead to bootloop.

  2. LED status looks like a basic start - blinking > static blue light for about 15 seconds > Reboot.
I waited more than 30 minutes, and result didn’t change. I can record if it can help.

  3. Yes, the both 2.5g and 5g MT3000 SSIDs suddenly dissappeared. I tried wired connection only after the Reset (10 seconds button hold). I’m not sure could I access Admin Panel before reset or not.

Also, I need to mention that when I connected another router I didn’t have internet connection via wifi (only wired). SSID displayed but no internet. So, I had to call the carrier, and the issue was resolved. The carrier support also told that they see the connection when I turned the Beryl MT3000 router. Its completelly different things but by chance they happened at the same time.

So after successfully flashing the firmware via U-Boot on the MT3000, does the LED cycle as follows:
power on → fast blinking → solid blue → fast blinking → solid blue (repeating),
instead of: power on → fast blinking → solid blue → slow blinking blue / solid white?

If so, please send an email to support@gl-inet.com with a link to this post to request after-sales support.

UPD.

I fixed the issue by flashing with original Ethernet cable. Now everything works well.

Thank you for your help!
