GL-MT3000 no Internet in 5Ghz WiFi networks

Hello,

I have a WiFi router at home that provides both 2.4 and 5 GHz networks. When I connect my GL-MT3000 router to the 2.4 GHz network, it connects to the internet without any issues. However, when I try to connect it to the 5 GHz network, it connects but there is no internet access.

All other devices that connect to the 5 GHz network have internet access, so it’s not an issue with the network itself. Any suggestions on what might be causing this problem?

Thank you!

How exactly do you connect to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi?

Via the repeater mode

The DNS address 192.168.1.109 seems unusual, this might be the issue here.

No, that’s ok thats my local DNS server; also, what you see in the background is the 2.4G network that works.

Here are some more pictures.

You should try to figure out if the uplinking router is doing some magic stuff.
Maybe some IP block or something like that?

I checked my WiFi AP and also my router (IP-Fire) nothing is blocking it. The strange thing is that the 2.4Ghz gets internet but not the 5Ghz. I also logged into the GL-MT3000 via SSH and tried to ping the router, which also didn’t work.

Hi,
I’m seing that I am not the one having this issue too. My Router is GL-MT3000; the difference is that it can see no 5Gz network through repeater mode !

Do you which channels and bandwidth the 5GHz-network uses?
