GL-MT3000 wireless repeater stopped working

Tonight my wireless repeater on Beryl & iPhone 12 hotspot stopped working. I wonder if its to do with ipv6 incompatibility in the repeater?

It was previously working for 5 months without problems.

My other devices (e.g. ipad) can use the iphone hotspot, but I note that the IP address becomes 192.0.0.2 and gateway 192.0.0.1 - and it also gets assigned ipv6 addresses.

Now on the Beryl the iphone hotspot doesnt work and, the error is: Internet > Repeater

IP Address Getting…
Gateway Getting…
DNS Server Getting…

I have searched the previous threads and found similar issues, but their solutions did not work for me.

My iphone hotspot works fine when I connect my other devices (laptop, other phones) to it. Only the Beryl wireless repeater has stopped working.

I'm using Auto IP settings and it fails with above errors. I tried manual IP settings but I dont know what subnet or DNS to use - I was able to connect an IP address if I use subnet 255.255.255.0 and DNS 1.1.1.1, but I am still not able to reach the internet.

I have rebooted my phone and also rebooted my Beryl.

My firmware version is 4.7.0 (latest @ Jan 2025). OpenWrt 21.02-SNAPSHOT r15812+908-46b6ee7ffc

Please help.

Device needs the IP address of your iphone hotspot as gateway address.
DHCP normally delivers
1 IP address
2 subnet mask (eg: 255.255.255.0)
3 DNS server IP
4 Gateway IP.

1 and 4 are in the same subnet range, first 3 digits are the same

thanks, i tried but still not working. but then i noticed: my iphone is giving out strange looking IP addresses - for example my ipad is connecting and given 192.0.0.2 plus several ipv6 addresses - I wonder if this is because the hotspot has changed to ipv6?...... Is the GL-MT3000 Beryl unable to do repeater with ipv6 ?

Somebody filled in a wrong subnet mask. Network 192.168.1.0/8 or 192.168.1.0/255.0.0.0 is actually subnet 192.0.0.0/8 or 192.0.0.0/255.0.0.0 , but that's a public IP address, assigned to somebody on the Internet. (in Austin, USA)
