I am using this unit as a wireless access point to access some hardware on a LAN. The long boot times are causing issues on the system. Is there anything I can disable to improve boot times to less than 30 seconds?

It is difficult to improve the boot times. If you can compile your own firmware you may remove some kernel modules and software packages so it can boot quicker. But not too much!
