GL-MT300N-V2 Huawei 3g Dongle model e303c Not Working

Hello, I have this mini router and I’d like to use My 3G with modem Huawei e303c, It worked all right with default firmware, I updated to the testing version and now it does not work, it worked on /dev/tty/USB2, It’s empty on Model Name and Imei Field, but auto config works showing Carrier and APN login and number to dial…

I tried to reinstall older firmware same result, I’d like the testing firmware to work with 3g modem, It works with my cellphone on tethering mode…

Also I’d like to confirm that the VPN option (No Internet if VPN is disconnected) disappeared on the new firmware but is IT DEFAULT turned On?

UPDATE*
I’ll try an older version mt300n-v2-2.27.bin and v2-2.263 to see if any of them work
Also I have 3 modems same model, and they all work plug-in on computer. So they are OK.
I’ll report back, if older firmware works, but I really I’d like to use the testing version.

UPDATE 2*
I tried all version of firmware none of them worked with this modem, funny It used to work when I first tried the router, if somebody can help me to make it work, with new or older firmware I’ll be grateful. I’ll be installing the testing firmware and use it for a while.

Also, I’ll be using the router with an old cellphone in Tethering modem, but I’d like it to work with a Dongle, is there any updated link with supported modems somebody can reply with the link?

Thanks

The “force vpn” option is enforced in the new firmware.

In the new firmware, you still are able to set up ttyUSB mode manually.

One thing, when you upgrade or reboot the router, the modem is not reset. So once you have a problem with the modem, you’d better reset it by either (1) unplug and plug again or (2) power off the router and power on again.

The UI may not detect the carrier settings successfully for 3rd party modems. It works with Quctel modem well only.

My understanding is that once you click “connect” (VPN) then force VPN is activated. This remains the case, even on reboot, until you click “disconnect”.

Thank you for your reply alzhao, I tried all Firmwares and my modem show up in autoconfig and manual, but it still shows empty under (Modem Name) and (IMEI) field, I tried all tty port no success, all info about ISP and dial are correct. Funny thing is, it used to work a few times I tried before updating firmware, sometimes I had to turn off and on for it to be detected, but now, it detects, but both auto and manual config does nothing. If you or anybody have no info to help me with this modem, I may just get my hands on another model later, or just keep using tethering on my cellphone.

Well, it is the last day of the year, Happy new year for all here. Thanks for helping.

Sure, I just wanted to make sure because with testing firmware the user interface changed, and I wanted to know that internet would not work if for any reason VPN was down.
Thanks

If it is of any help, here are the screens on the new firmware

Auto config does not work for custom modem, only for mifi with quctel.

After you apply the manual setttings, can you pull the power and power on again?

Yes, several times I tried power off and on, the thing is the field Modem Name (used to work) now it doesn’t even show up it shows empty. And it did work automatically if I remember right before. I tried to downgrade firmware but still same problem. I have 3 modem model huawei e303c, I tried them all, I’ll try to have a test with a different model in a few days and I reply back. I would really prefer to use the usb modem rather than tethering.
