Just simple, main router with VPN for all devices except one smart TV no VPN . Android TV can install any VPN providers apps. Job done ![]()
Just to update. My WAN connection does still cut off on OP24 but not as often as on the original firmware.
May I know what speed negotiation of the WAN of the Flint 2?
Check in the SSH by this command ethtool eth1
May I know what network port speed of the primary device is (ISP Modem or Router), 1Gbps or 2.5Gbps?
Thanks.
Have now sent a PM.
Could add feature WPS for advanced users.
Some people trying to connect with printers, extenders wifi, and old devices with button WPS
I wish this model supports telephony like my FritzBox 7590 AX. If GL can make a router with telephony then I'll ditch all upstream routers and only use GL. For the moment since I need telephony, I use my GL 6000 as a router behind my FritzBox
Maybe you will add ADBlock support from the GL-iNet interface?
It is Adguard home.
Adblock is not DNS server? Is not?
But you know that not everyone wants to delve into how ADGH works, they would just like to click one button and turn on ADB. Besides, ADGH causes a lot of problems with the device itself, VPN, Parental Controls, etc. Not every user of this router is advanced. That's what I think.
Besides, it is a Router for everyone, which means that it should be easy to use, and that is what the GL-iNet interface gives us. Therefore, simple ADB, included in the interface would be a nice option. If you want more advanced options and to have fun, you have the Luci interface.
It does not. It only brings problems if you use it in standalone mode.
You not right.
Adblock is filter and plugin for browser.
Adguard home is DNS server for local and no need plugin. Inside you can add adblock filters.
So I would say no need add feature adblock, waste time for developing even we already have one Adguard home
Ehm, sorry for asking, but what is Standalone mode? I use ADGH, and I also have configured VPN, and I experience no issues.
Well i'd agree, its very easy for a user with not so many knowledge to create a problem.
The issue is in understanding that ADGH replaces the dns resolver of the router, but other options like you mentioned could potential conflict because they also replace it, like the parental ones, for vpn it shouldn't unless you are speaking about domain policies then 100% you are correct.
You easily can get in situations one thing doesn't work.
Do i think it should be removed?
Well while i think it surely causes a increase in support topics or invalid bug reports, maybe they need to restrict it more so a user cannot check options which indirectly conflict with the dns, will be alot of work due to so many different setups but usefull when handling bug reports later. ![]()
sometimes people also don't want to read only when the checkbox was disabled ![]()
That's exactly what I mean. I'm not saying to remove ADGH, no, no, I use it to block ads myself, but the configuration is not easy at all from the position of an ORDINARY user. Implementing ordinary ADB would be a great solution. We treat GL-iNet routers as something advanced, but there are people who simply want a router with useful, quickly launched functions that do not conflict with each other. I think that the GL-iNet company itself wants to target its products at such ordinary users, because otherwise they would not do a simple version of the configuration. I have a friend to whom I recommended MT-6000 and he keeps getting questions about what and how to set up and he asked what ADGH is because he had never heard of it before, but he knows what ADB is because it is a function implemented in new routers, as well as browsers and applications. I do not want some argument here, I can simply suggest and I suggested.
Update:
Belkin USB 2.5G adapter (NIC) is available to work with GL Router which has 2.5Gbps interface, and stable.
ADGH is 1 click button. But it also has additional settings for advance users. ![]()
