OP24 is functioning normally, but there is an IPv6 outbound firewall communication issue in versions 4.7.0 and 4.7.4. The mode needs to be changed from 'native' or 'passthrough' to 'NAT6,' otherwise, IPv6-supported sites will be inaccessible. Has anyone else encountered the same issue?
Hi, thanks for the feedback!
I'm not reproducing the problem with MT6000 4.7.0 and 4.7.4, can you export a configuration that reproduces the problem for me to reproduce? Thank you!
-
PPPoE dialing
-
Change the gateway to 192.168.9.1
-
Enable IPv6 and use either Native mode or Passthrough
-
Enable AdGuard Home, configure upstream DNS, and enable IPv6 resolution
-
Try accessing IPv6-supported websites (e.g., JD.com, Taobao, Douyin China). If access is normal, restart the router until the issue reoccurs
-
If the issue persists after disabling AdGuard Home, disable IPv6 or switch to NAT6 mode to restore normal usage. The issue appears to be related to outbound IPv6 firewall rules, and many users have reported similar problems on Chinese forums.
The issue occurs between versions 4.6.8 and 4.7.0. Since 4.7.4 is a test version, it has not been attempted and is not considered.
Meanwhile, the OP24 version functions normally. I performed the following steps:
I reset the firmware and did not enable any VPN, ADGH, etc.
- The ISP device handles dialing, and the router is in routing mode.
- IPv6 was directly enabled and set to Native mode.
- The device successfully obtained an IPv6 address starting with 240x. However, accessing IPv6-supported websites resulted in a request timeout and continuous loading.
- Using the
ping
command to check the target website showed that the site was reachable, the IPv6 DNS resolution was successful, and ICMP packets were responded to. - If the
wan6
outbound interface is reconfigured via the LuCI interface, IPv6 websites become accessible. - After restarting the router, the configuration set in the LuCI interface no longer takes effect, even though the rules are still present. This leads to the recurrence of issues in steps 3 and 4.
- Disabling and re-enabling the IPv6 feature resolves the issue.
Following the steps you provided, and importing the configuration, turning on ipv6 setting Native or Passthrough failed to reproduce the problem. Please share the router with us via GoodCloud, we d like to check the issue on your router, since we did not reproduce this, thanks a million!
Please PM me the login password of GL GUI and the router MAC after you shared.
