You may configure this in Luci.
In the system menu choose the "Logging" tab and the you configure the IP address of the computer with Kiwi. Default is port 514 and UDP.
So there is no option for that. Do I need to install a plugin?
Nothing to install. In the system menu of the standard interface go to "Advanced settings" the go to Luci and configure as I mentionned.
Thanks Steve that is perfect and works great.
I'm with Cainium -
I have a GL-MT6000 that I'd like to log to my internal server. I looked all through every LuCI UI option and can't find ANYTHING to configure syslog to a remote IP. (Firmware 4.7.7, release 1, OpenWrt 21.02-SNAPSHOT r15812+1085-46b6ee7ffc / LuCI openwrt-21.02 branch git-22.335.71649-0ecaf74)
A firmware update check from the gui indicates "Firmware is up-to-date."
OTOH: I have DO have a GLI Opal (GL-SFT1200) at another site and I was able to configure it to log to its local syslog server. I don't have the firmware info handy for the Opal, though.
So somehow it seems like that option is missing in current LuCI for my firmware on the GL-MT6000.
Remote logging isn't really expected on a SOHO device. Get ready to fire up ssh & a text editor:
