The procedure is identical to OpenWrt, use sysupgrade.bin

I installed gargoyle on GL-MT6000, Internet Connect Via:PPPOE ipv6 dual stack 1Gbps, in the speed test on the wire it does not exceed 500Mbps Download and Uploud 890Mbps, disable Bandwidth Monitor i reach up to 890/908 Mbps download and 880/923 upload

/etc/init.d/bwmon_gargoyle stop
/etc/init.d/bwmon_gargoyle disable

If you’ve got kids or housemates that need to be kept under control by giving them hard download/upload limits or similar Gargoyle is absolutely fantastic. Has functions that no other consumer or prosumer off the shelf units provide. Highly recommended.
Source: Used back in the day to limit my kids on my 30GB limit ADSL connection :stuck_out_tongue:

I think dual stack PPPoE is giving you some reduction in performance here. I’m surprised, I would have thought the router is capable. I think maybe some process tuning to push processes onto different CPUs (e.g. using irqbalance), but this can also result in poorer results in some circumstances.
For what it is worth, a simple IPoE example using iPerf here showed 901MBit/sec in both directions

With Gargoyle QoS enabled, this dropped to 806MBit/sec.
With QoS on, BWMon Off, 827MBit/sec

Note that 940MBit/sec is really the theoretical maximum due to TCP overheads, and that I have a relatively weak client on the other end.
These are fantastic results from a home router.

It’s a shame that the problem in 2.4 is related to openwrt opensource, as this project is based on it, the problem persists…

for those who want to use Gargoyle, they can use: flow offloading, hardware flow offloading and packet steering via ssh, you can find all the information here with the tests done!

no update on the project?
and does ddwrt have any updates?

DD-WRT has no AX Routers…And the developer Brainslayer doesn’t seem to have any interest in making DD-WRT work on any new routers…Basically for DD-WRT you’re using old AC routers or a x86 Box. I left DD-WRT about four years ago…It’s kind of a relic of the past.
