GL-MT6000 - VPN, Policy Mode -> DNS leak

Hello,

GL-MT 6000, 4.8.2-op24 Beta 2025-09-03.

I use a VPN and VPN Server. When Global Mode is enabled - complete protection, no DNS leaks.

When I enable Policy Mode without any rules - complete protection, no DNS leaks.

However, when I enable any rule (e.g., From, Exclude Specified Devices and select a device to bypass the VPN) - the internal network is protected, no DNS leaks, but the connection through the VPN Server is no longer protected, there are DNS leaks, and my private IP is visible.

On 4.8.2 Stable 2025-09-01 - everything works - no DNS leaks in the local network and through the VPN Server.

Hi,

We have not been able to reproduce this issue.

Please check if your device client has only one network card, and this card is only connected to the GL router which it is enabled VPN policy tunnel and follows the rules is that test client goes to the VPN, when performing DNS detection.

Please provide more information and screenshots like VPN Dashboard, DNS leak tests, etc.

Hi,

Connection via mobile phone through the WireGuard app to the router. There is no protection through the VPN Server on the phone, but there is protection in the internal network through the VPN when using the router.

On 4.8.2 Stable 2025-09-01 - everything works - no DNS leaks in the local network and through the VPN Server.
