GL-RM1 - Connecting timeout

Just got mine and seems to have some issues connecting to the unit. I got it to connect from the local PC it was connected to. logged out then logged in from my laptop and same issue it tries to connect and times out. I can go local to the network and connect via web browser but the app seems to have issues.
Does anyone know if this is a port forwarding issue?
What are the ports this device uses?
Is it possible to enable the ability for multiple logins to the account from more than one user?

Could you please provide your cloud username?

My username for the login to the GLKVM software?

Yes, we will investigate the server configuration of the relevant accounts.

Using GLKVM does not require configuring port forwarding. We will first try P2P direct connection, and if the connection is unsuccessful, we will use our server forwarding

It is Destrega. Also after waiting several hours and repeatedly trying it finally connected.

I found another issue. The unit will not pass through video when at BIOS or in a different boot environment like Macrium or restore. These devices will pass the resolution but will not display what is being sent down the HDMI port. Since I requested the PC to boot into the OS I noticed the interface stayed black and never showed the BIOS screen. I added a HDMI DA or splitter to go to a monitor. The UI and BIOS shows fine on a monitor and the EDID being used is the RM1, however the UI is still black even after reconnecting.

This is the RM1 KVM

This is the resolution being reported.
1024x768

Please upgrade to the latest 1.1.1 firmware.
You can upgrade the firmware in the β€œhelp” menu

Upgraded but it still does not work. BIOS doesn't show and neither does booting into the USB drive for Macrium.

Could you please help to export the log file?

Can you provide the model information of the controlled computer?

The 1.1.1 Fixed the connectivity issues, I have tested this is working well now. The display issues from BIOS or Macrium Boot environment however are still not after reboots, something that could be important if you need to restore an OS or do any diagnostics. Below is the logs.

For features requests here is my requests:

  • I see it is possible to copy and paste to the unit but not from the unit.
  • Is it possible to have a toggle switch where when the mouse is in the window shortcut commands are sent to the unit not the OS? I do see the shortcut buttons but having a toggle to make it so you are always in that environment would be very beneficial.
  • The other thing I would love to sumbit as a feature request would be to accept command line arguments, such as "C:\Program Files\GLKVM\GLKVM.exe" --id (IP Address or name of unit) -p PASSWORD. This way just running this command or adding it to a shortcut in windows will open a connection immediately.

glkvm_log.zip (53.7 KB)

BTW thank you for the support, if we can get these issues fixed and resolved I can see potentially buying another 10+ units.

Is it possible to set the IP address for the unit or is dhcp required?

Can you provide the model of your controlled computer? We need to do some testing.

You can refer to link here

It is a custom silver draft demon, with an a6000 GFX card feeding the KVM.

Have you tried setting a different EDID and restarting your controlled computer?

Yes, the resolution is 1280x1024 by default and the KVM doesn't go that low.

I mean you tried different EDID configurations and failed to capture the desktop output from BIOS?

Correct. When I booted to BIOS and Macrium I tried switching different resolutions on the app where you suggested and was never able to see the desktop, I tried reseating the hdmi cable as well. I tried this in both bios and Macrium. If I put the hdmi cable into a 1x4 hdmi splitter I can put the same signal on a monitor so I can see the mouse and keyboard controls still controlling the device but the video signal is black.
