GL-X3000 AC adapter cable length

Hello!

I recently purchased the GL-X3000 router from the GL.Inet store, and it’s been working fine so far without any issues. However, I had to relocate the router to be mounted on my window because the other locations didn’t provide a satisfactory signal. I discovered that the length of the AC adapter power cable is at most 1 meter long, which is clearly insufficient. Most other routers I’ve used have power cables that are at least 2 meters or at least 1.5 meters long.

I’m curious to know if GL.Inet has any reason for the short power cable on their €400 router.
Clearly it's not reducing the voltage drop GL.Inet is after.

I can find an adapter with a longer cable, but using it might void the warranty.

Thank you!
Greg

Thank you for your valuable feedback on the power cable! Based on similar input, we've upgraded the cable length to 1.8 meter as the new standard for all future cellular routers.

  • GL-X3000 & GL-XE3000: Current units still use 1m cables due to existing inventory (adhering to our previous product standards). We plan to gradually switch to 1.8 meter power in the fourth quarter of 2025.
  • GL-X2000: Now comes with a 1.8m power as default.

Power Adapter Specifications:

  • Input: DC 12V 2.5A
  • Cable Requirement: 20AWG or thicker, 5.5x2.5mm plug

It doesn’t solve my issue, does it?
