GL-x3000 and the latest firmware release

I got my unit recently and i thought i have the latest on both unit firmware and 5G module firmware. When the new firmware came out for the unit, i did update my unit. all is good but i noticed that my upload speed was not as fast as it was (I think). today, i happen to check the firmware version of 5G module and realized that it is not the latest. I have updated the firmware of 5G module manually to RM520NGLAAR03A04M4G and my upload speed is back to what it was.

so.. did the latest firmware, 4.8.2, contain older 5G module firmware? I should have noted the version but i think it was at R03A03M4G before i manually updated that to R03A04M4G.

but… given the size of 4.82 download package from the web site, it can’t contain the modem firmware… so i am a bit lost.

all is good. i now have the latest on both and speed is back. i am just a bit puzzled…?

The firmware released of GL router does not contain cellular module firmware upgrades.

The firmware of cellular module needs to be upgraded separately.
This is the reason why the GL GUI > System > Upgrade of X3000 has 2 firmware upgrade functions, one for the router firmware and the other for the module.

If the cellular module works fine, please and recommended not to upgrade the module firmware randomly, even if new firmware is released.
