I just bought a used Spitz AX and it works great, except that slight tugs on the DC power plug in any lateral direction cause the device to lose power and reboot. Is this a common issue, or did the previous owner reef on jack too much? I have a new power adapter on the way to see if that has a better connection. I'm hoping it's not the jack itself. Thanks!
I'd try wrapping a few layers of electrical/scot tape around the barrel to give it some friction to fit against. A small application of construction clay/putty at key points on the side might work, too. The power connection is the pin within the barrel.
Hi,
It is possible that your power supply is a DC 5521 & 5525 compatible interface, which may be relatively loose.
Please use the power supply of the interface DC 5525.
According to the product page, the GL-X3000 has a Power Input with a DC5521 jack. This means that the 5521 jack is the more snug connection. Indeed, a jack like this from the jungle store works way better than a 5.5mm x 2.5mm (with compatibility with 2.1mm) jack like GL-iNet themselves sell. Bizarre.
TLDR avoid jacks that advertise as 5.5mm x 2.5mm but compatible with 2.1mm due to the inner spring. Try to find one with 2.1mm inner diameter only. Not 2.5mm.
