GL-X3000 looses cellular

My GL-X3000 looses connectivity with the cellular modem. When that happens and I login, the Router doesnt see the modem anymore. When I do a reboot it starts up, sees the modem and connects to cellular. After a while it looses connectivity and doesnt see the cellular anymore and just is stuck trying to connect to it. Again a reboot and it works for a little while. Any ideas what the reason could be? It works for months without any issues and that just happens since yesterday.

Hi,

To help us investigate the cause, could you please provide the cellular module firmware/version information?

Please log in to the router admin panel, open the AT Command page, and run these two commands:

AT+QGMR
AT+CSUB

Please send us the full output of both commands.

Also, please share a few more details about your setup:

  • Which carrier/SIM card are you using?
  • Is the modem registered on 4G or 5G when it is working?
  • whether the issue happens after a similar amount of time each time?

If the router cannot see the modem when the issue happens, please reboot it first, then run the commands once the modem is detected again.

Thanks for the reply. I dont see a AT Command page in the Admin Panel. Where do I find it or get to it?

Hi,

Could you please first provide your current firmware/software version? You can find it under:

SYSTEM > Upgrade

For the AT command page, it is located on the main Cellular page in the Admin Panel. Please check the Cellular section and look for the AT command/AT management entry, as shown in the screenshot below.

If you still cannot see it, please send us your firmware version and a screenshot of your Cellular page so we can confirm whether your current version supports this page or if it is located elsewhere.

Hi,

The firmware version I am using is 4.0 0804beta2. I had the same issue with the official firmware as well.

I am getting now these responses:

RM520NGLAAR03A03M4G_01.201.01.201

OK

SubEdition: V04

OK

I was using an esim with the sim card I bought with the Router. The carrier was Orange-FR. The SIM card was in sim slot 1.

It was connected sometimes 4G and sometimes 5G. I was standing on a campground.

The time between the disconnect was different every time. Sometimes 20 minutes and then lasting around 1.5hours before it disconnected.

Now I am back in Switzerland and I am now on Sunrise with 4G and it is stable. But now I am using the SIM card in Slot 2.

Could it be related to the SIM card or the carrier when I was on the campground. We were also very close to the mast with the repeater antennas for the campground wifi. Dont know whether that might have had an influence. Our phones did not have a problem with the carrier in France.

How did you get on, manage to fix it?

It works here in Switzerland now. Can’t reproduce the problem at the moment.
