GL-X3000 NAS Samba

Hello,

I am trying to add a new network location on my Windows 10 computer using Samba link provided by the router. However, it is not working for me. I did have it setup previously, but decided to edit user access and deleted a previous setup. Now it is not working....

Also the same issue with Iphone and connection to server function. I am getting a "socket not connected".

Anyone dealt with a similar issue in the past?

Thank you,

Please follow the documentation to configure Samba, if it prompts "socket not connected", probably the Samba service in the router is not configured properly or started up.

Hi Bruce,

I followed those instructions when setting up network storage, but Samba does not work. How can I check if Samba is started up properly?

Please PM me the issue syslog from GL GUI -> System -> Logs.

And post the Samba configuration:
cat /etc/samba/smb.conf

I got an error that the Samba conf is missing. see attached

The Samba software module seems to have wrong but no idea about the reason why.
Probably some configuration did before not work.

If possible, please reset the firmware in the X3000, and enable the Samba again.
