GL-X3000 no 5g connection

So, others have struck this before...

I have a GL-X3000. It sees a 5g tower, but wont connect to 5g. Do I need to update the modem firmware? I have emailed GL.iNet with no response... Thanks for any help!

In the phone, can the sim card be identified as 5G?

Yes, with the sim in a phone I get 5g…

Well, that did not work so well!

  1. I first changed to RM520NGLAAR03A02M4GA_2023_11_06
    It seemed several had used this firmware with success....
    The modem worked, but still no 5G connection

  2. I then changed to RM520NGLAAR03A03M4G_01.201.01.201.zip
    The modem 'connected', but no indication of 4G or 5G shown, and no internet access

  3. I think changed back to RM520NGLAAR03A02M4GA_2023_11_06
    Still no internet access!

So now using my old modem.... Please help!
Why no internet access with 01.201.01.201?
And why does the 2023_11_06 version not allow internet access when it did when first loaded?
