I am going to be adding Starlink to the mix and was wondering if there was a way to do policy based routing?
Are you trying to route certain websites/traffic through starlink vs the other connection?
Can you tell us what problem you are trying to solve?
I would like to be able to route certain clients out various paths. Example. I am going to be using the Roam 100GB plan. I have dual SIMS in the router. So in situations where my cell is relatively slow, I would like to route my data collection devices (Temp monitors, Victron for solar and power, Alexa devices etc) over the cell connections and keep that data off the Starlink Since it is capped. It just lets me utilize my resources better. Basically load balance but with control.
Hi
We currently do not support policy-based routing on the WAN.
You may consider installing the third-party plugin luci-app-pbr to achieve this functionality.
Alternatively, you can also configure the relevant routing table entries manually if you are comfortable working with the command line or Luci.
I think there is a real use case scenario to opening up PBR in the X3000 GUI. Especially in the scenario of Starlink standby mode. Would really appreciate if the GL folks would consider implementing.
Agreed with @itgoes211. This really should have some configuration options in the main GUI imo. Routing based on domain, ip (src and dst), and service would be great, though one could argue this goes beyond PBR.
Thank you for your suggestion.
We’ll discuss it with our product team.
