Gl-x3000 Spitz - Daily reverting to 3g. 5gnsa only after reboot

Two months ago I started getting problems with router reverting 3G every day. When I reboot the router it connects normally to 5GNSA.

Firmware 0704release5
Module RM520NGLAAR03A04M4G

I also reconnected external antennas to diferent connectors - still the same.

System log shows:

I experienced similiar issue and others with the modem in my GL-X3000.

It might not help you but I would recommend trying to disable "Network acceleration" and updating your 5G module.

I documented my steps here: GL-X3000 Spitz AX Cellular connection keeps loading and not connected - #6 by onni

Thanks for the info. I disabled network acceleration, and in Luci under network interfaces switched dhcpv6 to dhcp client. Now I need to wait and see

Disabling dhcpv6 in Luci under network interfaces didn't solve anything. Still got kicked to 3G again today and had to reboot. Anyone with an idea?

Hello,do you use a traditional sim card or use esim service? When router switches to 3G network, could you download the modem-debug file from admin panel->INTERNET->Cellular->Modem Management and share it with us to check?

I am using a traditional physical SIM card. Yesterday i locked the tower to 4g main cell and i remained connected to the 5gnsa until an hour ago. This time it didn't revert to 3g, but just lost the connection until i unlocked. Then it was connected to 3g. After that i rebooted the modem and currently i am connected to 4G via national roaming.

I exported modem debug json but i cannot upload it here

Hello, it's possible that this base station has interference or poor signal. The sim card can't be registered after the card has been working for some time. Could you please check this cell info here to see if the Cell Tower ID is the same before and after the router restart?

Alternatively, can you check if you can find the same cell towe in the available tower list when this error occurs?

Everything was working normally, then I briefly lost internet connection. I logged to the Spitz dashboard and saw the cellular was disconnected. One minute later cellular connected to 3g. So it seems i witnessed that process when the router reconnects to 3g.
I am sending you the error logs starting when the cellular was down, and when it reconnected to 3g

Hey
You can execute the following AT command, and the network will prioritize registering NR or LTE

AT+QNWPREFCFG="mode_pref",LTE:NR5G

In the United States we do not have 3G/HSPA/UMTS networks active anymore. I came to Canada recently and discovered that Canadian carriers do have 3G networks still active, which the Spitz supports connecting to. On the latest official firmware I noticed that after a while I would get kicked down to 3G after some time.

Luckily, just days after I'd arrived in Canada, GL-iNet released a snapshot firmware that included a new Operator Lock feature. The operators are listed along with each RAT they support. So you can lock onto their "4G" (which will also connect to NR NSA once established on LTE), or their 3G, and I assume if your SIM is SA-Enabled, a "5G" option would show up in the list too.

Simply setting the Operator Lock to "Manual-Auto" and choosing TELUS, Bell, or Rogers (4G) locked onto the correct network technology and I never experienced drops to 3G again, even after days of zero activity on the network.
