GL-X3000 UI Error Message Keeps popping up

Hello folks,

On my router admin page, below error message keeps popping up. I have no issues with the connectivity as such. Also firmware is up to date.

"Unknown error occurred. Please check the network environment or
reboot the device."

Can I know what this is?

There is occasional disconnection issue but it is not that frequent and it still reconnects it quickly whenever it happens.

Thanks.

My Firmware update details

Can you try to download this
https://fw.gl-inet.com/firmware/x3000/release/openwrt-x3000-4.0-0408release4-0419-1713515790.bin

go to local upgrade tab, and then drag or upload it (you may want to switch on the keep the settings)

Hope this helps

Curious why you are suggesting that the OP install a firmware that is 4 versions older than their current version.

Re-flash the firmware through LUCI and see if that resolves the issue. Do not save settings and do not upload settings.

Set up all settings from scratch.

Please open the browser developer console and post a screenshot of the error messages inside the console.

because i have experienced same issue, downgrading the firmware version fixed it for me :man_shrugging:

Thanks everyone,

I thought of trying with firmware reset before doing manual install as suggested.
Firmware reset worked for me so did not do manual install.

However, I am bit concerned now because it is not ideal to do Firmware reset every time as you clean all your settings and you need to set everything up from the scratch.

I wonder if there is some option to export all the configurations before performing reset and load all those settings later on.

Anyways, appreciate all the help here.

You can export all the settings and its fine to use them at later time, if you are staying with in same firmware range and there were no issues when settings were saved.

But when making a big jump in a firmware upgrade, lets say from OpenWrt 21 to OpenWrt 22, than its best to NOT re-use the settings. Most of the time it should work fine, but sometimes in some cases you might run in to issues. Its not always the case, but it does happen.

This is usually caused by some API failed.

In your image, there is an icon "VPN", can you explain?

If you have VPN on your computer, you may not be able to access t he router's admin panel. Hope this is the issue.

If you reset your firmware for troubleshooting, you should not load the old settings again.

Mostly those settings are the issue.

That's opera browser. They have built in VPN but I never use it. That's just there. There was no issue accessing router admin page, issue was with that message prompt.

Now the issue is already resolved otherwise I would have confirmed it in other browser, but thanks anyways.

Good day.
