Haven't found this specific issue anywhere else online or the forums. I have a GL-X3000 connected to Verizon via a Total Wireless unlimited plan. It usually works great, but despite functional settings, once to twice a week it goes into
"Connecting…
Some SIM cards have special usage restrictions, for example, the need to use a specific APN. If your SIM card cannot be registered, please check with your network operator to see if your SIM has any special restrictions."
It seems to be trying to connect, and usually shows a 4G band connection, but not the 5G NSA band. I try to restart the connection by using a manual connect, use a hard reboot, or a software reboot. None of this reconnects the device until a certain amount of time has elapsed. After this time it resumes normal function. I know this isn't a local tower issue because I have three cell phones on the exact same plan and they all connect to 5G while the X3000 is just sitting there trying to connect. Any ideas?
Interesting idea. I hadn't thought to check the APN per se of the phones, since they were set up by TotalWireless's app. Swapping the phones' SIM cards to the X3000 will not likely work, since its IMEI is not connected to their cards, but I can give it a try. As I understand each sim card is uniquely connected to a phone's IMEI for a carrier, which is how we activated them, and as I thought necessary for activation and service. Even so, I can try the SIM card swap. Thing is the issue is SO intermittent, I can't reproduce it reliably, since it's just about 15 minutes every few days. The disruption is definitely inconvenient, but infrequent, and you never know when it will happen. Our phones never have a problem, which is what makes me think this is an issue between the X3000 and Verizon. Still, will try the swap.
