Since this device has a internal built in battery; is it safe to bring it to China? Since there are regulations on power banks and exists stories where peoples’ power banks are being confiscated in train stations or immigrations. Does anyone know if this router battery is compliant with regulations?
Hi
The XE3000 is not sold in mainland China, and therefore does not have CCC certification.
As far as we know, this regulation currently mainly affects civil aviation and power bank devices. Since requirements may vary depending on airport security policies, we recommend contacting the relevant airline or airport staff in advance to confirm whether routers with power supplies are subject to any restrictions.
For rail travel, we have not heard of similar restrictions so far, but it’s still advisable to check with the relevant staff to confirm.
Additionally, even if a device cannot pass security screening, options such as temporary storage or shipping are usually available, rather than confiscation. In practice, it is up to you to decide whether to use these options, as the cost of storage or shipping may exceed the value of the device.
