GL2500 network topology

Hi all,

I just got my GL-2500 Brume 2 and was wondering if I can use it to manage my existing Deco Mesh network.

My current set up:

Fibre ONT > Deco BE65 Mesh router > Brume 2 > switch > client devices

what I'd like to achieve is:

Fibre ONT > Brume 2 > Deco BE65 > switch > client devices

I would like for the Deco to keep providing WiFI. I have successfully set up Wireguard VPN server on the Brume 2 which is the main reason I purchased it but I now would like to take advantage of it's other features. The plan is also to purchase a second one for my home in the Philippines so I can link both networks.

If my proposed config is possible, will the remote access of my Emby server still function if I forwarded the port?

In my setup I have the brume 2 connect directly to the Ethernet switch and run it in drop-in mode and I'm able to still use the dhcp server provided by the router and still utilize all the functionality of the brume 2..... WireGuard, Adguard, etc.... as long as I configure routers dhcp lan service to point at the Brume 2 for gateway and dns addresses.

Hi and thanks for the suggestions.

To clarify, is the Brume 2 in your network the first router that your Internet is connected to?

Since I have a FTTP connection, I have tried the following configuration which did not work as all my devices lost Internet access although I was able to connect to the Brume 2 via Wireguard:

Fibre ONT --> Brume 2 --> Deco AP1 --> switch --> Deco AP2.

The Brume 2 is the DHCP server and gateway. I have disabled DHCP on the Decos. Theoretically, I would think that the above should work.

To clarify, both the AP2 and LAN devices are connected to the same switch.
