Trying to connect a GLInet slate to an Asus router over wireguard for site to site. I see the GLInet has built in ddns to gldns.com and wanted to see if I can also set that up for the Asus?
Both are running over residential ISP with dynamic IPs that sometimes change.
This isn't possible, I am sorry. It‘s not an open service.
There's some free ddns providers out there, no-ip.com for instance, which unfortunately needs annoying renewal every 30 days - but check out afraid.org, and duckdns.org.
If you have the GL-iNet router behind your Asus in one network, just enable DDNS on the GL-iNet router. The GL-iNet DDNS address will be updated to the WAN address of the Network (Asus router).
There is no need to use the DNS update on another device (f.ex. the Asus router).
Thanks for the replies.
The config is [ few devices > GL-Inet > ISP1 > Internet < ISP2 < Asus < few devices] and since both ISPs assign the ip with dhcp, they could change. Saw that GL-Inet had ddns built in and wondered if I could also make one for the Asus in gldns.com.
no-ip has low cost for 5 devices so that makes me wonder if I can just setup the 2 routers with them and put the no-ip host in the GL-Inet router. But getting the feeling that can't happen. I found the plugin for no-ip and loaded it but have not figured out how to access the settings.
the obvious things are eluding me.
