GLI Mudi - very slow

Hello,

I have the GLI Modi Router V1 with the latest firmware.

I find the device is extremely slow. The configuration page runs consistently very slow.

When I ping the router, the ms are okay. But as soon as I start browsing, it becomes very, very slow.

Currently, it's set up as a repeater in a WLAN that has a 250 Mbit/s Internet connection, but I only get through 5 to 10 Mbit/s. Other devices in the WLAN where the GLI is a repeater get over 200 Mbit/s.

The router sets up a VPN tunnel via Wireguard. The remote site of the tunnel, a Mikrotik, is in the same WLAN. The latency is 80 to 150 ms, which is also too slow; I would find 2-3 ms acceptable.

I just reset the router and tested it again, but nothing has changed.

The CPU usage on the router is very low.

Turn off the vpn, how much speed you can get?
Can we connect the Mikrotik to another phone for a speed check?

Hello,

The VPN is not related to this issue. I have set up the two Wireguard tunnels (work and home) in the advanced interface.

The router configuration is either:
Client (iPad or Laptop) -> GLI (NAT) -> Home Router (NAT) -> WAN
or
Client (iPad or Laptop) -> GLI (NAT) -> Mobile -> WAN

I have even managed to reach 20 Mbit/s twice.
iPad on Work WLAN "270 Mbit/s
iPad on GLI WLAN 5 to 20 Mbit/s.

It is equally slow with mobile or as a repeater.

I testet Home WLAN, Work WLAN and Mobile Connection.

As you did mention VPN, so have to clarify that the speed is not affected by your vpn when testing repeater.

Pls don't keep the Admin panel page active in your browser if you are not configuring. It does affect the performance of the router.

For repeater, pls give details. Are you repeating on 2.4G or 5G? Pls send screenshots.
