Has anyone changed the mini-pci card in an XE-300

I have an XE-300 with the EP06-A card, which doesn't have support for the eSIM cards. I'm thinking of swapping it out for an EG25-G, which is another variation of the XE-300 available from GL.

Has anyone done this and is it as easy as it looks or are there any hidden pitfalls I can't see.

I swapped in two Puli routers's EP06-A with the European equivalent EP06-E.

Just dont rush, be careful, make some pictures just in case and it can be done relatively easy

I have swapped modems in my Spitz X750 without issue. I've used a Sierra Wireless mc7455, Quectel EP06-E, Quectel EG25-G and Quectel EC25-AF. They list the EG25-G as a modem option, so I don't see why it would not work?

I don't think the EG25-G supports eSim?

The product page for eSIM offers to sell you an XE-300 with an EG25-G module under the banner: Routers compatible with GL.iNet-eSIM

Also the note for the XE-300 states that only the EP06-A isn't compatible.

Interesting…….I like the EG25-G since it’s a global modem and covers many bands. @EddieA are you saying the EG25-G supports esim? Thanks.
