Has anyone flashed expressVPN router ( AXG1800) with OpenWRT or GLinet firmware?

Hello everyone

I have 2 expressVpN aircove go, the portable version) AXG1800, IC:31075, sadly ExpressVPN does not connect in here anymore. only VPN protocol which connects is AmneziaWG which with the Help of @bruce i was able to connect using latest GLinet Beta version. i got the VPN from Windscirbe.

very good VPN.

So my question, Can i flash one of these router to GLinet or even Normal Open-WRT? can it’s CPU and ram handle it?

If there’s any guild or info id really appreciate

I was able to do it.

First you will Hold the Reset button on device and then plug in the router. after 3 LED flash you release the Button.

It will take you to 192.168.142.1 Type uboot.html in from of it to go to uboot page ( Its blue not red )
Download and upload the bin file there

  1. After the upload is complete, access the dashboard once more
  2. Download and upload the GL.iNet firmware u need Uboot file verion of it which is img file. ( this time only 192.168.142.1 )
  3. Wait for the router to reboot, then access the dashboard

Change your ip from static to DHCP and the router is back to default 168.8.1 . thats where you go and setup the router as a new GLinet device.

AmneziaWG will be supported in GL firmware v4.9.

Thanks, Any clue when will be 4.9 available to download? i see for Slate axt1800 latest beta is 4.8.3

I love GLinet gui and how easy and nice looking it is. I would love to stay with it rather than going to Vanilla Open-wrt. But time is important for me.

Not released yet, probably beta in Q2.

I am not able load blue uboot page uboot.html, it only loads red. Can you kindly share the link I am stuck with red page with 192.168.142.1
