Help setting up Brume 3

Hello. I’m struggling a bit getting my new Brume 3 set up. I know the instructions say you have to plug the Brume 3 into both your home internet router AND your home computer at the same time.

However this is not possible as my home desktop is nowhere near the home router (different rooms). So how can I get the Brume set up correctly? The goal is to enable GoodCloud so I can access the Brume’s UI from anywhere, but I dont know how to get to this point yet.

Thanks.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to achieve, but I actually use my Brume 3 as my home router. I have a wifi mesh system that I’ve set into AP-only mode, so all routing/DHCP is just done by the Brume 3 on my network. You could also keep your existing router in router mode, but you will create a dual-NAT situation which would make it difficult to manage port forwarding, if that’s a concern for you.

Anyway, physically, my devices go:

((Internet)) – ((Modem)) – ((Brume 3)) – ((“Router”)) – ((client devices))

I also have a device that hangs off LAN 2 on the Brume 3 directly, but that isn’t required in any way.

I ended up figuring it out. When the Brume 3 is plugged into my home router, I can access it’s UI from another PC on the same network but I have to use https. Before i was just typing the IP into my browser which didn’t work.
