There is no delete account buttons like some other Discourse based forums.
And if it is just anonymization like some others forums push/use, what happens to my profile data like my email address? And does my login still work? Meaning I still have an account? Or is my account deleted but my posts stay on the forum under a random anonymized user name?
I believe what I have seen on some other discourse forums, by standard your username gets scrambled to deleted name, but posts remain, but this just mean you can re-activate the account and reclaim the user only after a certain time that is also not possible....
Though GL-iNet does not seem to have a delete feature, I think they can also hard delete you then nothing exists.
Though hard deletion can become a bit of a search engine nightmare and can even be a little dangerous if a user is somebody who is a really active invidual with alot of content, it can break content and urls no longer being accessible, perhaps google can even give penalties if there is a sudden of alot of content missing.
On the other side lawfully speaking it should be something which need to be possible because there is a EU law for this, and that one states a full wipe of the data, the right to be forgotten.
^ I think with the anonmized name is still best, and all other data gone except posts because this bypasses the law a bit.
Need to think about which one I want but if I choose to anonymize my account, do I need to PM you for that too? I did not see that option in my account settings/preferences.
