How do you even use the mudi

How do you even use the muld? If I'm lucky enough for it to even boardcast it's ssid when I press to connect I get connection failed. When I'm super lucky enough to get in the connection is soooo slow even using the ethernet cable on my 900 down router.

I don't understand how this product is usable? Even it's or ui loads soooo slow if I'm able to get into it for a few moments before the connection times out. I'm not even using plugin like ad guard it just can't seem to run it's own basic functions? I only have 2.4g and a vpn tunnel with no complex rules or anything. What am I missing here to make this product actually use able for basic connections?

My flint 2 just works even with lots of ad guard rules and guest WiFi. The mudi doesn't. Should I not have updated to the latest firmware is there a bug in that for mudi? It's brand new my mudi too I'm really happy with flint and really disappointed in mudi….

Hi,

Mudi v2 is a portable mobile router with a built-in battery, so its overall performance is not intended to match home-grade devices such as the Flint 2. It is designed primarily to provide cellular connectivity when traveling or in environments without stable power.

We recommend the following to achieve the best performance:

  1. Use a 5 GHz Wi-Fi SSID instead of 2.4 GHz to minimize interference.
  2. When using Ethernet as the WAN connection, expected throughput is around 70–90 Mbps.
  3. If a VPN is enabled, performance will decrease further. On Mudi v2, WireGuard typically reaches up to ~40 Mbps, while OpenVPN peaks at around ~5 Mbps.

If you are looking for a more modern, higher-performance portable cellular router, you may want to consider our upcoming Mudi 7. It features 5G cellular support, a native 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port, and tri-band Wi-Fi 7.

at this point its nothing to do with speed and just to do with the device working and not locking up. Actually getting it to broadcast its ssid and to have a device right next to it connect successfully and for the ui to not constantly time out. It takes like 10 mins for it boot fully to allow things to connect.

when is the v7 coming out and can it handle its own operating system without breaking unlike the v1/v2

As mentioned earlier, Mudi v2 is not designed for high performance, so slower page loading or longer startup times can be expected. However, it should not take close to 10 minutes.

In our local testing with Mudi v2 using an Ethernet upstream and VPN enabled, it took approximately 3–4 minutes before other devices could connect to its Wi-Fi and pass traffic through the VPN.

If this startup time is inconvenient, you may consider using Standby mode instead of powering the device off completely. This can significantly reduce the time required to resume operation.

Mudi 7 is still in the early stage, and there is no official release date yet. Its CPU performance is expected to be a significant improvement over Mudi v2 and should provide a noticeably better user experience.
