How to access USB share on Shield?

Some other forum users have reported that Samba works correctly on the Nvidia Shield.
For example:

-Currently able to samba browse other devices on the same network: HomeAssistant on RPi, Nvidia Shield, MacMini (samba connection).

To help us narrow this down, please provide:

• Screenshots of the Nvidia Shield’s Samba or network storage settings
• Any error messages shown when accessing the share

It would also be helpful to confirm whether the issue occurs across different apps. Please let us know if the connection works when using third-party applications such as Kodi or VLC, as this can help determine whether the issue is app-specific or system-wide.
