The Comet Pro KVM instructions are to control a desktop or all-in-one computer, they do not include a laptop. How do we connect the KVM to control a laptop, no HDMI?
Typically, An HDMI output port and USB input port are needed. Does your laptop has other kinds of display output port such as DP or VGA? You can try to find a DP/VGA to HDMI adapter to use.
Please make sure the order must be xxx to HDMI.
If I can persuade the user to forego the external HDMI monitor, how should the KVM be connected to the laptop HDMI port? Cable from laptop HDMI to KVM HDMI in, or out?
We purchased the Comet Pro to remotely control a laptop that is used in automation. It has a HDMI port but that port is in use to drive an external monitor.
If so, you can use RM10's HDMI passthrough function. Connect the laptop's HDMI port to RM10's HDMI in port, then connect the monitor to RM10's HDMI out port.
