I did this via an email to you
Hi, X3000, I have similar issues, no issues with phone. Occurs in Teams calls "sometimes", very critical for working. Tried sqm, cell fix, and other fixes. Found this thread. Want to update to latest firmware version. Currently I have:
RM520NGLAAR01A07M4G_01.201.01.201
Please how do I know where to find the latest firmware?
How do the Quectel version numbers work? Any changelog?
I assume RM520NGLAAR03A03M4G_BETA_20240521C_01.200.01.200 is more recent for some reason.
If you want to update RM520NGLAAR03A03M4G_BETA_20240521C_01.200.01.200
Replace RM520NGLAAR03A03M4G_01.201.01.201 in the document with RM520NGLAAR03A03M4G_BETA_20240521C_01.200.01.200
Compare R0x, then A0x
Ah awesome, xiexie for your help!
The R0x, A0x numbers are the same as the stable variant 1.201.01.201 though, suggesting that the stable variant is more recent.
Also, there seems to be a more recent variant as per GitHub - 4IceG/RM520N-GL: Quectel RM520N-GL is 5G IoT module specially optimized for IoT/eMBB applications.
Date | Version | Hint | Link |
---|---|---|---|
2024-08-09 | RM520NGLAAR03A04M4G_01.202.01.202 | Firmware cannot be downgraded to ver. released before RM520NGLAAR01A07M4G_01.200.01.200 | Download |
Is that not yet approved, or also ok to upgrade?
I asked quectel about it
They say it's not much different from R03A03
This is the firmware for Verizon authentication.
Issue persists with both firmwares, Beta and most recent version. Drops from 5G NSA to 4G apparently but with no actual Internet. Not sure what I can do. If anyone has an idea please advise:

Usually when important traffic is needed like shortly after connecting a Teams phone call. No other traffic.
This log indicates that the ip address sent to the sim under the base station has changed
Router detected it. Rebooting the network
Does this happen every time a team call is made?
Or at regular intervals
Thank you for helping me and looking into this
Not every time a call is made. I cannot make out the reason with the standard logs, these are some different occations where it falls back to 4G or disconnects entirely:

I can confirm the call drops seem to be not related to VOIP (had 40min all already). But also not logged in the System Log at all, only the ifdown event and eventually recovery reconnect back to 5G.
All firmwares behaved the same.
Cell lock, sqm do not mitigate the issue.

Can it be a Modem issue, debugged there?
i bought a 5g router to use the big benefits of 5g, not to run it in 4g.
also, the 5g network is perfectly available and sitting there.
it's the router that does funny things, out of the box.
compared to netgear nighthawk m5 and other.
i am really a big fan of glinet but this router gives me more headache than a pfsense enterprise firewall with a 5g and ap board.
i found out that the country code is stored differently. tried to change it but its not stored as US, but apparently as 00.
i have a feeling that this is the issue, as i bought the device on a USA holiday trip and brought it to Germany.
is there someone i can DM to finally get this solved please? it is an X3000. the script doesn't work.
@alzhao do i need a replacement? i don't know how to contact support other than here
ywp is not working in our company any more.
I suggest that you send email to support at glinet.biz and guys will help.
yes i did email.
