Good afternoon. I am the owner of the router GL.int GL-MT6000. I foolishly replaced the uboot factory loader with OpenWRT (according to the instructions Debrick via Uboot - GL.iNet Router Docs 3 /). My router is currently being flashed on OpenWRT (everything is working). Only u boot OpenWRT does not have a web loader firmware mode, but only a factory reset mode. I have a question. How do I get the factory uboot bootloader back into the router? I see there is a git repository. GitHub - gl-inet/mt798x-boot: U-BOOT for MT2500/MT3000/X3000/XE3000/MT6000 . Which suggests compiling u boot, but tells you how to flash it. I'm asking for help from the community. Can you tell me if there are instructions for returning the original GL uboot loader?
Thanks!
I have the same question.
We are not sure if the uboot can be restored by flashing GL uboot file on native uboot.
Is it impossible to flash GL firmware? or it cannot be booted after flashing on native uboot?
We will provide the GL MT6000 uboot file to see if it can be flashed on the native uboot.
Warning:
-
If uboot flash fails, the router may fail to start, even the native uboot lost.
-
If uboot fails to start, you need to establish communication with the router through the serial port and re-flash uboot. This operation requires to disassemble the casing.

You can contact cs@gl-inet.com to explain the situation and send it back to us to restore uboot. But it probably takes long time.
Hello, I would like to join this discussion. I also conducted an experiment and wanted to see what would happen if I flashed uboot from the official openwrt website. Perhaps there would be changes in the uboot interface or something else, but now I have lost the ability to boot the router into uboot. and I would like to restore this ability. Also, my router won't start on its own without unplugging the power cable and holding the reset button for a few seconds.
1. Question: why is there a uboot.fip file on the official openwrt website for gl-net flint 2 if it does nothing, but on the contrary, removes the ability to perform an emergency recovery?
2. Question: how to flash the stock uboot via openwrt without a urat cable (I have the file mt7986_glinet_gl-mt6000-fip.bin), but I don't know how to flash it in openwrt, AI ideas don't help, except for using a urat cable, which I don't have, and I don't want to open the router, as it will leave damage on the case.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Hello,
The uboot is still there, but the version may change, and the art partition may also change.
A1. I think the uboot.fip you mentioned is officially provided by OpenWRT, not provided by GL.iNet. We would not provide this file to the public, because uboot flashing is very risky.
Once uboot flashing fails, you can only remove the flash chip and burn it with tool.
If the firmware flashing fails, at least uboot can debrick it.
A2. If your router now is available to enter the uboot Web GUI (regardless of GL.iNet or not), you can also flash uboot.fip through the GUI, note that 192.168.1.1/uboot.html to back to GL.iNet uboot.
Non-GL.iNet uboot and GL.iNet firmware will not provide any technical support.
