Hello, I recently got a tcl linkport ik511 and I had assumed it would be compatible with cellular settings and unfortunately it only shows up as tethering. In the linkports settings it has the option to enable AT commands and some other setting called M2M. But it never ends up showing up any differently. Is there a way to get this modem compatible with the slate 7 or one of my other glinet travel routers under cellular? I know I can use it with tethering but it seems to get significantly slower speeds under tethering then it does connected to any of my other computers directly. I figure since it exposes the ability to configure with at commands isn’t there a way to get this working so it works under the cellular option vs tethering?
If it is able to enable the AT option, probably just sending some AT commands in its own WEB UI or SSH.
Obviously it took over the modem to process dial itself and routing, so the GL router can only connect it with tethering.
In addition, the GL firmware does not support to this module model, and it cannot be used as a cellular option.
okay, yeah it has two options for enabling AT commands and M2M (machine to machine) and I've tried them both but it doesnt work. Is there any way to at all help get it supported? I know a lot of people have bought it and most people will probably be satisfied using the tethering option but it seems significantly slower than it does on any other device I connect it to. Also the option of having to manually enable the tethering option in the ui limits how useful it is. Also is there any word on when the first software update for the slate7 will be released?
Sorry, I think there is no way to support in router part.
The Slate 7 v4.7.2 beta firmware has been released, you can upgrade to this version to try it out.
