I need help please

I am a loyal gl-inet user. I use daily the Beryl AX (GL-MT3000),Flint 2 (GL-MT6000) and the GL-E750V2 Mudi. This morning I woke up and NONE OF THE 3 WORK. !!!! I have tried everything, deleted the open vpn files and installed new ones, modified the DNS, factory reset, downgraded to the firmware version, changed the VPN provider and IT HAS NOT HELPED ANYTHING. IT STILL DOES NOT WORK. CAN YOU HELP US PLEASE?

Hi Iddum,

can you please describe the problem in detail. "NONE OF THE 3 WORK" doesn't help.

The problem is the following: I have openvpn files from protonvpn (securecore) in each of the routers and the CONNECTION FALLS. It is very unstable. The same thing happens in all 3 models.
With the mudi, if I disconnect the VPN, the router gives connection, but as soon as I turn it on it stays “CONNECTING” and if I get it to connect, it loses the connection again soon after. There are many people on the forum with the same problem. Why is this happening?
And how can we solve it?
Thanks

Please share the log of one of your routers.

For me this looks like the config file does not fit to the server itself.

Is it a OVPN file that works on OpenVPN on your PC or phone?

    Hi, good morning

Hello good afternoon. The connection keeps failing. The configuration files installed are open vpn, from protonvpn. They have been working for over a year, no one has changed the credentials and I have several vpn accounts installed on the different gl inet models I have and they all started to fail on Tuesday morning 8 /04/ 2025. From what I have read on your forum there is a lot of people with the same problem, so it is clear that it is not isolated. Can you tell us what is happening and above all, when is there going to be a solution? Thanks

Do they work if you use OpenVPN client software on your PC or mobile phone?
I would assume that Proton did some upgrade and the config is no longer valid.

The 3 lines from the logfile that @admon mentioned above mean that there is probably something wrong with your config.

[...] is used inconsistently, [...]

means that you are sending something, that the server does not like.

Try to download new files and try again.

It works perfectly on the mobile phone. I have seen on the forum , people who have reported the same problem with different vpn providers ,cono surfshark, ciberghost.ciberghost.... So?

Thanks for the contribution! I have also tested it, in case the old proton openvpn files are out of date or have some incompatibility with the latest updates. I downloaded new open vpn secure core files, and it is still exactly the same. The vpn connection fails continuously. However the gl inet mudi 750 V2, if you disconnect the vpn it works.
Those files had been working perfectly for months and suddenly it failed all at once on three different gl inet models and with different vpn accounts.
And there are many more people reporting the same failure with different models of gl inet and with different vpn providers. What is the solution? Everything was working perfectly until Tuesday morning when everything started to fail.

Since I only use Mullvad, I can't really assist here.

@bruce May you have a look?

Hello,

It seems that something parameter in the client profile is inconsistent with the server and cannot pass the verification.

Will ask R&D to check and troubleshoot this issue about the ProtonVPN Secure Core configs.

We will follow up and solve other VPN provider issues separately, please do not confuse them.

Hello,
I checked the logs — your OpenVPN connection dropped after about 2 minutes.
Could you check if any LAN clients are generating unusually large amounts of traffic?
It might not be the root cause, but it could offer some clues.

I'm guessing some abnormal traffic might be causing the OpenVPN server to drop the connection.

Hello,

I did not reproduce this issue on my MT6000.

Please confirm when you upload Secure Core configs to the router, a pop-up prompt needs to enter username and password, did you enter the "credential"?
