So let me get this straight. We have the option to install plugins but if you do so it bricks the system? After installing nfs-kernel-server the whole system was gone and i had to uboot and install the latest firmware. This is the second time this happend. Earlier it was another package and I had to reset the system. How is this even possible??
Am I to assume that this is intended since there is no reaction on my post.
Hi,
Sorry for the trouble and the delayed response. Could you share your router model and the full firmware version you were using when this happened? We’ll ask our development team to look into the reported issue with nfs-kernel-server.
Please note that third-party plug-ins are not maintained by GL.iNet, so we cannot guarantee their compatibility or stability. We can offer assistance on a best-effort basis, but please use these packages with caution, as they may affect normal router operation.
Thank you for the reply. I have the Flint 3 with 4.10.1 firmware.
I understand that just installing packages willy-nilly can cause issues but something as basic as nfs-kernel-server? It should be the first choice in the glinet gui instead of samba.
Thanks for clarifying. We’ll ask our development team to look into the nfs-kernel-server issue on Flint 3 running firmware 4.10.1.
NFS is not currently an officially supported GL.iNet feature. We’ll discuss your suggestion to include NFS in the GL.iNet web interface further with our product team.
