Internet access via ethernet on an Opal GL SFT-1200

Hello there,

I’m hoping that someone can suggest a few avenues for me to explore with my Opal.

After returning from a three week trip I started up my opal router (connected by ethernet to my satellite decoder on the upstream end and to my ISP router on the other - Orange here in France). There was no connection to the internet however, despite all my other connected devices connecting on ethernet without any problems (Blu-ray/amplifier/french tv decoder).

The opal is detected by both machines, and an IP address is attributed by the ISP router but there is no internet connection detected by the opal (or shown when I’m connected to it by wifi in the GLINET app).

I am using version 4.3.25 of the firmware that was supplied with the purchase. I have noticed that the last stable version on the gl-net website is only 4.3.25, can someone explain that?!

I have rebooted everything and tried different ports and cables but to no avail, any help unravelling this mystery would be greatly appreciated.

The firmware version should read 4.3.28

Hi

Regarding the version number, v4.3.28 is a factory firmware. It has no functional changes compared to v4.3.25, so it was not published in the download center. Both versions are safe to use.

As for the issue where the Opal shows no internet connection, could you please:

  1. Provide a screenshot of the WAN status under Opal Admin Panel → Internet
  2. Export the logs and send them to us via private message
  3. Run the following command on a device connected to the Opal to check the status:
# Windows (Command Prompt)
nslookup google.com
tracert 8.8.8.8

# macOS / Linux
nslookup google.com
traceroute 8.8.8.8

Thank you for providing the log.

We noticed that the WireGuard client is enabled but failed to parse the configuration file.

Please try disabling the WireGuard client in the Admin Panel -> VPN and see if the network connection works properly afterward.

Thanks, I disabled the Wireguard client and it connects now.

What do you suggest now?

Is the WG client file corrupted?

Here’s the new Wireguard log.

logread2.tar (165 KB)

The connection still fails when I try to connect it from the Profile in Router tab.

Hi there, with the help of the people from Privado VPN I discovered that the configuration file was missing the Endpoint parameter, all sorted now.

Thanks for the rapid diagnosis of the logs that permitted me to get to the bottom of the problem.

Kind regards

Simon
