my router model is GL-AX1800
network topology is as follows:
within about 30 seconds or sooner of connecting the quest to the 5ghz, internet is lost on the AX1800's network. if i connect to 2.4ghz its fine, i can connect my phone to the 5ghz and its fine
i need 5ghz for airlink, its the only reason i connect the quest to the wifi
running
ping google.com
on a few different devices reveals that the AX1800 itself and all devices under it lose internet, but a device connected directly to the WAN AP 2.4ghz is fine
AX1800's web interface reports that the WAN 2.4ghz is connected but internet not available
intra-network communication remains stable and healthy, i.e. quest can receive airlink from pc, but no internet
edit: forgot to mention, this is a new issue as of a couple weeks ago, and ive tried switching to unstable firmware with no change
So you mean the 2.4G Wireless WAN is still connected but Internet is broken?
Can you get the log after the problem happens?
just reproduced the issue to get logs

disconnected ssh
it took longer than before for internet to drop this time but it did eventually

Hi,
Could you please re-capture the situation one more time, as this syslog cannot find key info about the repeater connectivity.
Have you tried to up/downgrade the firmware without (no check) the 'Keep Setting'?
Have you tried repeat the upstream 5GHz? LAN works ok, WAN
upgrading to unstable branch firmware did not resolve the issue, upstream router does not support 5ghz and ethernet is not feasible
repeated test:

I am not a VR expert, but from your description it sounds like the Quest2 provides a DHCP service that is confusing the whole LAN.
Is it possible to deactivate the LAN management. (DHCP) at the Quest2?
This could make sense at a ad-hoc setup to let the devices around know how to communicate. But not in infrastructure mode when another router is present. I can imagine it is some kind of IPv6 voodoo, that the GL-iNet router is not supporting, now. So the Quest2 thinks there is no router and takes the management role.
Very speculative. But better to start than nothing.

oh good, this sounds much more helpful
i dont think i'd be able to find much settings about dhcp in the quest, but if its related to ipv6 i could disable that in the router. that might actually make sense because i enabled ipv6 only a month or two ago, i dont remember having this issue until more recently but i could be wrong about the timeline
i'll try that later today when i have a chance
wow, disabling ipv6 fixed it, never would have guessed. thanks so much!

disabling ipv6 was not the solution, it came back but i've just been dealing with it
but now its progressed to the point that i lose internet connection whenever the quest 2 is connected, no matter what
i can work around it by using my phone with usb tethering to the router, but its not a very good solution due to the data being metered and the connection being lower quality

Hi,
Have you tried to upgrade the AX1800 to v4.8.0 firmware?
