So, I already have my GL-iNet router working successfully with my Tailscale exit node, but I’m just trying to remember a few things for the purpose of creating a how-to guide for others.
In the case of using the GL-iNet router with subnets for using a Tailscale exit node with a LAN device that does not have Tailscale installed…
I understand two things must be done to the GL-iNet router (as shown here: Subnet routers and traffic relay nodes · Tailscale Docs):
- IP forwarding enabled
- Enable subnet routes
My two questions are:
-
Does the exit node device need to have the “–accept-routes” flag when running the Tailscale up command in order for it to work with the travel router?
-
Does the exit node device also need IP forwarding enabled?
Thanks
