Is it possible to install Nextcloud on a Flint 2 Router ?

The Specs are not that bad and for a only small not professional exoerience maybe enough? is it possible ? complicated ? Had someone tried it ? i only want to save my pictures , sync contact and need a cloud drive via nextcloud.

Thanks for your help

It is possible to run php based web application on the router. But I didn't try nextcloud on the router though.

Once a while ago, we tried to use NextCloud for our file shares. But eventually it is a disaster. Files just don't sync correctly. Maybe it is improved now. I use dropbox and never have a problem.

is it a web based script ? No i dont want to spend money for online cloud services. 4TB extern HDD for pictures and data . And how can i Install it ? is there a source to add ?

other guys here who tried it ?

I had used this but in a docker container.

But docker does require atleast 1gb space, and you may have to fiddle around for the /opt partition.

I don't use docker anymore on the Flint 2, because everytime i had to update the firmware I needed to reinstall the containers and docker, though for data or config you could make a bind mount to your hdd, but when usb is involved I would personally stay away for wifi problems, or accept use usb 2.0 speeds.

To me using a nuc with bind mounts was a much better solution than using docker on the router.

yeah but i have to use the Standard Router as modem - the Flint 2 Router and "then" a Homeserver / Nas too .. a IPTV Box etc - to much for me . I m saving one or two times in a week data - thats it . Without data - its no update problem ?

Some ideas here

Might be other programs depending on what you need it to do.

Some of the choices are way more than simple click and go.

Firmware update may cause issues.
