Is it possible to install Nextcloud on a Flint 2 Router ?

The Specs are not that bad and for a only small not professional exoerience maybe enough? is it possible ? complicated ? Had someone tried it ? i only want to save my pictures , sync contact and need a cloud drive via nextcloud.

It is possible to run php based web application on the router. But I didn't try nextcloud on the router though.

Once a while ago, we tried to use NextCloud for our file shares. But eventually it is a disaster. Files just don't sync correctly. Maybe it is improved now. I use dropbox and never have a problem.

is it a web based script ? No i dont want to spend money for online cloud services. 4TB extern HDD for pictures and data . And how can i Install it ? is there a source to add ?

I had used this but in a docker container.

But docker does require atleast 1gb space, and you may have to fiddle around for the /opt partition.

I don't use docker anymore on the Flint 2, because everytime i had to update the firmware I needed to reinstall the containers and docker, though for data or config you could make a bind mount to your hdd, but when usb is involved I would personally stay away for wifi problems, or accept use usb 2.0 speeds.

To me using a nuc with bind mounts was a much better solution than using docker on the router.

yeah but i have to use the Standard Router as modem - the Flint 2 Router and "then" a Homeserver / Nas too .. a IPTV Box etc - to much for me . I m saving one or two times in a week data - thats it . Without data - its no update problem ?

Some of the choices are way more than simple click and go.

Firmware update may cause issues.
